Redeemer’s History Redeemer Lutheran Church is the daughter congregation of Mount Olive Lutheran Church of Metairie, Louisiana. After being organized in 2001, its first service was held on August 26 with thirteen adults and four children. It was originally named "Mount Olive Lutheran Church Northshore." The Rev. Louis E. Nelsen, Jr. agreed to come out of retirement to serve as pastor to this small flock. In March 2009, the Rev. Aaron Stinnett was called to be the new shepherd at Redeemer, and he was installed on May 31. On October 4, 2015, Redeemer celebrated the dedication of a new church home at our current location. In December 2017, Rev. Stinnett accepted a call to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, West Virginia. In March 2019, Pastor John C. Drosendahl was installed as Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Since the church’s beginning, the members of Redeemer have been committed to the Scriptures as the divinely inspired, perfectly reliable source of our teachings, to the Lutheran Confessions as a faithful exposition of Scripture, and to Jesus Christ as the church’s solid foundation.
